SHARK WEEK PARTIES

As part of Discovery’s annual Shark Week, I helped create some truly jaw-dropping client events and experiences. From a shark cage installation inside a Gansevoort Hotel elevator to client-themed environmental graphics, we ensured every detail was jawsome.

DISCOVERY UPFRONT 2019

I played a key role in Discovery’s largest annual sales initiative — the multi-city Upfront events. For the 2019 campaign, I oversaw creative development from overall branding and style guidance to executive speaker support, along with client communications and on-site visual experiences. From registration flows to a massive 40-foot shark installation, every touchpoint was designed to energize attendees and reinforce the strength of our portfolio.

DISCOVERY VIRTUAL UPFRONT & MAILER

After canceling our 2020 event due to the global pandemic, we needed to return strong in 2021 with an immersive virtual event. This included the creation of a custom “Upfront Comfort Kit” to help clients get through a busy week of countless meetings and break through screen fatigue. Like in previous years, I oversaw the design of all client communications and registration, and partnered closely with production teams to shape the keynote segment for our Chief U.S. Advertising Sales Officer.

WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY UPFRONTS @ MSG

With the close of the Discovery & Warner Media merger in 2022, we quickly had to produce a star-studded show at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in a matter of weeks. I worked intimately with our Chief U.S. Advertising Sales Officer, members of our Marketing team, and our production partners to develop speaker support for the Ad Sales portion of the show. I did the same for the 2023 show, collaborating with the Corporate Creative team on all experiential graphics. Additionally, my team handled all client touchpoints, including registration.

HGTV HOME PROMOTIONS

For years, HGTV has celebrated client sponsors of their home promotions (Dream Home, Smart Home, Urban Oasis) with a “Client Weekend” trip to the finished homes. I encouraged a new approach to these events by branding each trip as a unique experience – with a custom look, feel, and name. Each trip required invites, a custom registration landing page, menus, premiums, and other digital and print material. Even during the pandemic, we pivoted to a fully immersive virtual event paired with an unforgettable set of gifts with custom packaging.

CES HOSPITALITY SUITE & BOBBY FLAY DINNER

After our merger to become Warner Bros. Discovery, we wanted to display the full power of our extended portfolio of brands inside our hospitality suite at the Aria in Las Vegas for the annual CES expo. Through a series of large-scale posters, we showcased our diverse talent “breaking the frame”, winning GDUSA’s 2023 award for Signs & Environmental Graphics. We also designed a unique invite, registration page, and menus for an intimate client dinner with Bobby Flay.

EXPERIENCE MAINE CLIENT TRIP

We hosted an intimate retreat to Maine in the Fall of 2022 for some of our top clients. Working with my creative team, we designed a personalized branded experience that reflected Maine’s autumnal vibe across various materials, including an original design tote bag. This was truly a special opportunity to develop an event completely from the ground up.

VIRTUAL EVENTS

During the pandemic, we designed a series of virtual events to engage clients while working from home. Playing off of the hit Discovery series “Expedition Unknown”, and Josh Gates’ love of making custom drinks, we hosted “Cocktails Unknown” featuring Josh himself live as he walked clients through a few of his favorite drink recipes and presented stories from around the world. The entire branded experience included a custom recipe map, bio, and drinkware packaged in a wooden crate that could only be opened with the included crowbar.

An equally one-of-a-kind experience was a second event to promote an upcoming HGTV series – The Laundry Guy, featuring Patric Richardson as he shared some drink-making instruction and his amazing stain-removing skills. A copy of Patric’s book, along with other custom-designed items, was shipped in a unique washing machine box.

AD SALES MARKETING TEAM-BUILDING WORKSHOP

As someone who has always been infatuated with LEGO, I leveraged the power of the “brick” as a light-hearted creative concept to support a departmental team-building workshop. This included humorous signage to outline our core competencies and mockups of shows from across our networks. I even constructed our company logo out of LEGO.

DISCOVERY ADVENTURE CLIENT TRIPS

Every year, we hosted a very high-end client trip to a “Discovery Adventure” destination from around the world, including locations such as Lake Como, Sicily, and Jackson Hole, and a voyage on the Orient Express from Paris to Venice. Each trip received a fully custom set of invitations and a mailer kit of trip details for clients. Below are some examples from trips to Sedona, Arizona, and to one of the most luxurious hotels in the world in Canyon Point, Utah.
